WOGP Opinion: Now that the U.S election is over and America has elected Donald Trump as their President Elect whom has been very controversial with his pro-wall, being anti-Muslim, anti-Women, anti-LGBT, mocks the disabled and uses vulgar words towards women over the past 15 months. How can Americans see Trump in a president? We at WOGP are very lost for words indeed with the result. Many loyal Democrats had pinned and hoped for the very first woman president after Tuesdays dramatic and nail biting turn of events in the state by state count. Could this win for the Donald be part the Anti-LGBTQ dream within the likes of Trump's VP Mike Pence who could help overturn Marriage Equality and help push for the controversial Conversion Therapy within their first 4 year term? We don't know but we do know that to overturn any laws that have passed in the past from the U.S Supreme Court can be overturned with a 2/3 or 75% vote majority or more, which could see America turn back many years of hard work with already great progress with equality in the LGBT community.
Our Analysis of the U.S election -
Was Trump's win because of the Brexit vote win in the U.K earlier this year? "No", it was basically an election of all sorts in a way that Americans feared them both and many people have said online that both choices were not great choices and both had flaws and controversies. What we personally believe is that people are now angry and starting to realize that they want to be heard with a different outlook and and voice and not play into the establishment as in "established politicians" who make a career out of politics, and yes Trump has never been a politician but we personally think he is the wrong choice for the Republicans and right now as President. But we also think heads need to roll at the top within the Democrat Party, they are not listening to the will of the people of the party within the grassroots movement whom supported Bernie Sanders until Hillary Clinton was announced the winner to run against the Republican nominee leading up to yesterday's election day vote and count, "No" I am not defending Bernie Sanders but many of his supporters believed in him he could be the one as in the humble nominee as he had almost no political flaws or controversies but many feared him due to his so called scary socialistic ideals that many people thought were not plausible or could not be achieved under a Socialist, well in actual fact he is a 'Democratic Socialist" which is based on "For the people, by the people" principles.
If Democrats want to win, they need to be more progressive and show that they care about ALL their supporters and voter base. We at WOGP personally thought Hillary Clinton had it in the bag due to Trump's rhetoric and demeanor, but even though we never endorsed any candidate we are deeply saddened that America has chosen fear for the next 4 years.
